Munka - with less scary eyes.

Here he is: my child-friendly Munka.
He's not really /that/ different. Hopefully he'll be easy for Laura to work from.
Go Laura! As huggable as possible please! Heehee!

Munka plushie (Version 1)

Munka the plushie!!! Look at him!
My friend Laura Heatherly (look at her blog, it's awesome) made this prototype Munka for me, isn't he amazing??

Hangin out in his new home.

This is the picture I drew which Laura worked from.

Cheeky face. Terrible photographing skills ala me.

Just kickin back with big Flimsy and little Jimmsy.

Little Jimmsy is well happy to have a new friend ^__^

So Laura is going to make the final version of him soon hopefully! My plan is to take him with me to meetings with publishers to show how my characters can be really successfully made into child-friendly products. I need to make his eyes less googly though as (apparently) children's books don't sell if the characters have googly eyes. Stupid. So I'm going to work on a new picture of him before Laura gets started.

I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS!

Dorky comic

So I've been asked to do a 'dorky' comic for an American zine and this is what I've come up with. It's /semi/-based on something that happened to me, but I dramatised it a little. Especially the bit with the birds. Lemme know what you think plz.

P.S. As always, click on the images to see them BIGGER!

P.P.S. The zine, 'Terminal Fun' can be got hold of by sending your shipping info to terminal_fun_the_zine@yahoo.com. Yeah boy. x

DANNY - halp plz?

Hello all!
So these are the three images I've decided on to send to publishers along with a rough draft of the whole story and a proposal explaining what demographic I'm aiming for and stuff. BUT I NEED YOUR HELP PEOPLE! Is there anything about these images you think I should change? Click on them and make them big and scrutinise them! Be picky! Pretend you're an obnoxious, spoiled 7 year old! Do you think they're the best pictures? Was there another that I've blogged before that you wished you could see coloured in? Any advice would be amazing. Feel free to comment, email or (if you know where I live) come shout at me in person.

Love to you all xxxxxxx

Ooh P.S. There's also this one (which defs needs more work) but which is the other one that's semi-finished. If you think I should send this one too and send 4, or if you think it should take the place of one of the top 3 then lemme know too, yeah?

Guinness Pig

He's an old man guinea pig who likes the guinness ^__^
Thanks to my friend Jen for the idea.
I'd like him to be in his own comic strip one day, being old and drunk and slightly racist. Hilarious.

Pider book illustrations - Rough

I'm meeting up with a very talented writer named Symon Vegro this Wednesday who may be interested in me doing some illustrations for him to put in his children's book. It isn't a picture book, it's more like a novel - so it'll be exciting to do something I've never done before!
Vegro's book is about a spider called Pider, and he has lots of other creepy crawly friends. After reading the first two chapters that he sent me, these are the rough images I sent him to let him know what my style is like.
